Helpful Tips For Creating Your Wedding Registry

Creating the Best Wedding Registry

Congratulations on your engagement! One of the most exciting days of your life just happened, and the next is on its way: your wedding! It’s now time to start planning. When guests accept an invitation to your special day, it is proper wedding etiquette for them to send a gift. In order to do this, you and your partner need to create a wedding registry. Your wedding registry information should be shared with guests on your wedding website. Dream Beach Wedding has made a list of some helpful tips for creating the best wedding registry.

You and your partner should start creating your wedding registry shortly after becoming engaged. This gives your guests ample amount of time to buy gifts before and after your wedding ceremony. This also gives you the opportunity to add new items as you think of them.

We recommend choosing two or three stores to register at, allowing guests to make purchases both online and in-store. It is best to register at a larger retail store that may have a lot of the items you are interested in.

Make a List

Before starting your registry, take a look at the things you already own. You may be moving into a new home and are looking to part with some of your older household items. Once you have an idea of what you would like to keep, make a list of new items you would like to receive. We recommend creating different categories to organize the products you are wishing for. Think about items you may need for your kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, bedroom, etc.

Browse Items In-Store

Before pushing your registry live, you should take the time to view different products in-store. You may like how something looks online, but feel different about it when seeing it up close in person. Going into a store also gives you the opportunity to add new items to your registry that you might not have thought of before. Most retailers will provide you with a scanner or assist you with the process of adding to your registry.

Options, Options, Options

Provide your guests with plenty of options! Include both expensive and inexpensive items. It’s better to have more on your registry than not enough!

Review Your Wedding Registry

Before making your wedding registry public, make sure everything is correct. You may have accidentally registered for an item more than once or need to add more to the quantity.

Have Fun

Enjoy the process of creating your wedding registry! It should reflect you and your partner as a couple and include both practical and fun items. These gifts will help you start your future together and be a token of your special day. If you have questions about wedding planning or your registry, our Dream Beach team would be honored to help!
