Couple Having A Destination Wedding On The Beach In San Diego

Fun Domestic Places for Destination Weddings

Beautiful Doesn’t Have to Cost Big

You can’t have it all, but you can always have most of what you want for your dream wedding day. The venue can play a big part in what you’re able to afford to treat yourself and your spouse to when it is time to say ‘I do.’ If it’s more important to you to have a handful of people and a perfect dress, a destination wedding could be for you. Of course, one thinks of a destination wedding as one that happens in another country, with popular destinations being The Bahamas, Bora Bora, Jamaica, France, and Spain. Tickets to these places, however, are pricey, you may not have the advantage of knowing where to go to get your license, and it is difficult to coordinate with even the most well-meaning people to have your special day. Though less exotic, several places right here in the United States can be both fun and interesting places to have your special day, and you don’t have to be bothered with trying to make sure that you’re fully understood and fully satisfied.

San Diego

The City of San Diego hugs beaches with one arm and mountains with the other, and provides tons of beautiful opportunities for you to make a lasting memory. Beach weddings have plenty of variety from the rocky to the pebbly to the sandy. Being close to the mountains means that there is also plenty of opportunity for couples to choose parks and mountain lodges to have their ceremonies.

San Francisco

A city that is as beautifully contemporary as it is steeped in history, San Francisco is easily accessible by plane, and easy to navigate with public transit for your guests. A great place to have bridal showers and bachelor (and bachelorette) parties, there is plenty to do, see, eat, drink, and enjoy in San Francisco. The Greater San Francisco Bay Area is well-connected, and there is a wide range of wonderful places that you could have a quick wedding. Or, head about an hour north into Napa or Sonoma for a wedding venue that comes with all of the world-famous wine you can drink.

New York City

The biggest city in the United States is a bustling, crowded place with its own brand of vigor. New York has a semi-hidden elegant side, though, and dozens of venues to choose from in any area (or borough) of your choice. New York City can be terribly expensive for some, but definitely has the prestige of bright lights, big city, and a great launchpad for your African or European Honeymoon.

Billings

What on earth is this tiny city doing on this list? Wide open spaces. Huge sky. Ranches. To some, this is a dream come true! Maybe you’re from one of the bigger city, and your idea of getting away is being able to take a horse down the aisle into the arms of the love of your life. With plenty of room, and greater ease of finding a venue with lax rules on the length and noise level of your event, any of the cities in Montana and the Dakotas could be a great option for you.
